Locksmith inventory software that knows what is on the shelf

Keyway is inventory software built for locksmith shops. You enter your own key blanks, fobs, transponders and hardware with your own costs and sell prices, track stock at the shop and in each van, and get an alert and an email when a part drops to its reorder point, before you run out.

The parts list showing six parts with their SKU, keyway, vendor and FCC number, a sell price column, and a stock badge on each row reading In stock, Low stock or Out of stock.

Your catalog, entered your way

Keyway does not ship a price book and does not know what you paid. Each part carries the details a locksmith actually looks things up by.

  • SKU, keyway, vendor and FCC ID on the part itself
  • The vehicles or hardware it fits, so a quote can find it
  • Your cost and your sell price, both in your own numbers
  • A barcode, if the part has one, so you can scan it

Stock by location, as a trail of movements

Keep stock at the front counter, in back storage and on each van. Every change is a movement you can look back through, so you can see why a count changed and not just what it is now. Finish a job and the parts on it come off stock by themselves.

Reorder before you run out

Set a reorder point per part. When stock crosses it, an alert opens on the dashboard and an email goes out. Keyway tells you; it does not place the order for you.

Vendors and purchase orders

Keep your suppliers on file, raise a purchase order, email it to the vendor, and receive it in full or in part. Received parts go onto the shelf as stock movements.

Scan a barcode with your phone

Point the phone's camera at a part's barcode to find it and adjust its stock, or attach a code to a part that does not have one yet.

Start from your spreadsheet

Bring your existing parts list in from a CSV or a paste. You check the column mapping and nothing is created until you confirm it.

The import screen offering a CSV upload or a paste straight from a spreadsheet, with a note that the column mapping is confirmed before anything is imported.

Questions

Can Keyway track stock in my vans as well as the shop?

Yes. Each place you keep stock is its own location, for example Front counter, Van 2 or Back storage, and each part has a count at each one.

Will Keyway place the order with my vendor for me?

No. It opens an alert and sends an email when a part crosses its reorder point. You decide what to order, and you can raise a purchase order to your vendor from Keyway.

Can I bring in the parts list I already have?

Yes. Upload a CSV or paste straight out of Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers. Keyway suggests how your columns map onto its fields and you confirm the mapping before anything is created.

Can another shop see my parts, prices or customers?

No. Every row is tagged with your shop and the database itself refuses to return another shop's rows. The only thing shared between shops is a read-only list of vehicle makes and models.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, 14 days with every feature. A card is required to start it and nothing is charged until it ends. Cancel yourself from your billing settings before then and you pay nothing.

See it running against your own parts list

Paste your existing pricing spreadsheet in and Keyway maps the columns for you. Or ask for a short demo and we will walk through your own catalog, in Keyway, in about fifteen minutes.
