What Keyway does for a locksmith shop

Keyway keeps a locksmith shop's parts, quotes and jobs in one place. It tracks stock by location with reorder alerts, prices jobs from your own rates, books them on a schedule, records sites, doors and master key systems for commercial work, and works on a phone. Every feature is in the one plan.

14 day free trial. Requesting a demo opens an email to us.

Keyway's dashboard for a shop called Cedar Ridge Lock & Key: a week strip with jobs booked on five days, today's appointments listed underneath with the customer and the assigned tech, and a Needs you panel showing one quote waiting and one part low on stock.

Parts and stock

Your own catalog with fitment, keyway, FCC ID, costs and sell prices. Stock at each location, kept as a trail of movements, with a reorder point per part.

The parts list showing six parts with their SKU, keyway, vendor and FCC number, a sell price column, and a stock badge on each row reading In stock, Low stock or Out of stock.

Alerts, vendors and purchase orders

An alert and an email when a part runs low. Vendors on file, purchase orders you can email to them, and receiving that puts the parts back on the shelf.

Quoting

One price from your part price, your labour rate for the job and your tax, with vehicle matching for car keys and fobs.

The quick quote screen with a 2019 Honda Civic and a Spare Key job selected, showing a single total price of $184.80 built from the shop's own part price and labour rate.

Jobs, customers and the schedule

Jobs with their customer, vehicle or property, booked on a calendar with the tech assigned. A status link lets the customer follow the job. Completing a job takes its parts off stock.

The month calendar for September, with appointment chips on eight days, today circled, and buttons to add a new job or a new appointment.

Sites, doors and master key systems

For commercial work: a customer's sites and their doors, the master key system behind them, and who holds which key, how many copies, and whether they returned it.

Barcode scanning

Scan a part with the phone's camera to find it and adjust its stock.

Import, export and reports

Bring your parts in from a spreadsheet with a mapping you confirm. Export parts, customers, tickets, stock movements and vendors as CSV. Look back through stock movements in reports.

The import screen offering a CSV upload or a paste straight from a spreadsheet, with a note that the column mapping is confirmed before anything is imported.

Your whole team

Staff logins with roles, unlimited locations, and every screen built for a phone at 390 pixels wide.

Questions

Are some features only on a higher plan?

No. There is one plan and it includes every feature. Nothing is held back.

Can I bring in the parts list I already have?

Yes. Upload a CSV or paste straight out of Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers. Keyway suggests how your columns map onto its fields and you confirm the mapping before anything is created.

Can another shop see my parts, prices or customers?

No. Every row is tagged with your shop and the database itself refuses to return another shop's rows. The only thing shared between shops is a read-only list of vehicle makes and models.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, 14 days with every feature. A card is required to start it and nothing is charged until it ends. Cancel yourself from your billing settings before then and you pay nothing.
